29 countries participating in Int’l Roshd Film Fest


Tehran, Oct 25, IRNA — Feature films from 29 countries will be screened at the 41st International Roshd Film Festival, secretary of the festival said.

Addressing a news conference on the festival, Hamid Reza Kaffash added that some 1,416 works have been submitted to the secretariat of the festival of which 271 are from foreign countries with the others produced by the Iranian filmmakers.Artists from 43 countries including Norway, Canada, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, France, Germany and Sweden have delivered films to the festival but films of 29 countries found their way to the competition section.

The festival boasts of various sections such as documentary, science, short narrative, feature films and animation, he said, noting that each section will be judged by 10 jurors.

Some 16 cinemas have been devoted to screening the films, he said, noting some 1,416 films were judged within a month and some 295 were finally allowed for the competition section.

Kaffash said that the festival will provide an opportunity for the Iranian and foreign filmmakers to exchange views.

The 41st International Roshd film Festival will be held from October 30 to November 6.
